Encouraging and Equipping Today’s  Christian Wives and Mothers

About  HOTH

Titus 2:3-5:

"Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips                                                                                nor enslaved to much wine, teaching  what is good, that they may encourage the                                                                      younger women to love their husbands, love their children, be sensible, pure,                                                                                workers at home, submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not                                                                                   be dishonored."

Consistent with our Protestant heritage and Calvinistic persuasion, we affirm our faith in certain basics of Christian doctrine as a guide for ourselves. The following statements serve as a minimal expression of what we believe a true Christian faith is based upon and should espouse.

  - We believe the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments to be the Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

  - We believe in one God, infinitely perfect, the Creator of all things, who is eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  - We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

  - We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, that He was buried, that He arose from the dead on the third day thereafter, that after His resurrection He was seen and handled of men, and that He ascended into heaven where, on the right hand of the Majesty on high, He is now our High Priest and advocate.

  - We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit which is to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, and to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the regenerate unto Godly living and service.

  - We believe that man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and as a consequence is lost, and that only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

Statement of Faith

Founded in 1995, Heart of the Home seeks to mentor and encourage women in their roles as wives, mothers, and women of God. This ministry has blossomed to include a yearly women's conference which draws hundreds of women from all over California and surrounding states to be encouraged, equipped, and empowered.  Each summer Heart of the Home founder, Janet Ables, invites women in her local community to join her in a Six Week Summer Study Session. These sessions are grounded in God's Word and encourage practical application of God's Truths. Past Summer Study Sessions have included "Six Secrets of a Stay-at-Home Mom," "Knowing the Character of God," "Becoming a Mary in a Martha World,” and “Extreme Makeover: Marriage Edition.”  Heart of the Home has also developed one-day conferences designed to meet various needs within your church and community.  Thousands of women have benefited from the solid, biblical teaching provided at these events. (Click here for a list of topics and message descriptions.)  In addition, Janet accepts speaking engagements for weekend retreats, one-day conferences, and MOPS meetings.   Heart of the Home has had the opportunity to teach and touch the lives of thousands of women as they seek to become the women God desires.

About our Mission

Heart of the Home is a non-denominational ministry to mothers which began in 1995. Established on the principles found in Titus 2:3-5, it is committed to:

           -Establishing God's view of motherhood as a position having honor and                       worth;
           -Communicating the Word of God in order to encourage women in their                        roles as  wives & mothers;
           -Facilitating Titus 2 relationships between women of all ages and levels of                   spiritual maturity; and
           -Spreading the Gospel message that salvation comes through Jesus Christ.

We seek to mentor women, who are the "Hearts of their Homes,"  through our annual  and highlights conferences, summer session Bible studies, and by offering resources to equip groups and individuals to begin mentoring ministries of their own.

The scriptural basis for our ministry is
